HAPPINESS, EXCITEMENT and SADNESS

HURRAY!!! Everybody are in their harmonious mood. There were smiles and greetings left and right..it is simply because it is the celebration of the much awaited 2009 SLU-LES Mini Olympics. Parents, friends, viewers flocked together towards the Baguio Athletic Bowl to watch the activities. There were cheering and streetdancing during the parade along the main thoroughfares of the city assisted by the BB-PICAG. At the venue of the olympics, there were four big tents and small tents installed. It was like a picnic mode; foods, snacks, drinks, fruits were brought for the whole day affair. There were also several booth wherein you can buy an additional food for what you already have. Finally, the competition has began! We are all excited and nervous about our kids performance, camera are clicking everywhere hoping to get the best shots of our kids. It was fun as a whole. The performances of the kids are excellent. Their hardship during the practices were compensated by clapping and appreciation of the crowd. BUT, in every game there is somewhat we call "loser". It is very unfortunate that my kid is one of them. I almost cried a river for my sympathy to her because I felt their feelings for not even getting a single award. Among the four groups they are the only one who are very silent. Everybody are screaming in happiness for getting different kinds of award. I must admit I was also hurt but I told my daughter it was just a simple game. What is important is she showed her best during the performance. In a game, some win some loose. That's the essence of a fair competition.

I'M COMING HOME

Baguio City, the summer place for everyone and is the Summer Capital here in our country, the Philippines. The first time I stepped into this place, i felt like I am in heaven because of it's pine breeze and foggy atmosphere. I was then 5 years old, I really loved the place because since the time we came here I never left it for almost 15 years. I never missed the place where we came from, I'ved enjoyed every minute of my stay here. I have completed my elementary, high school and my course of Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Accounting at University of Cordilleras then Baguio Colleges Foundation. I thought I would be here forever...It never sinked into my mind that I will leave this place that I have dreamed of. I have to move out of this place for a greener pasture. I found a job that suits my degree. Established a new community in Manila; new friends, new neighbors and a family. I thought I was then contented and fulfilled to have them by my side. I was wrong..I feel an emptiness in me. I was looking for something that I lost for so many years. Until I realize, it is the place where I came from...BAGUIO CITY. The place where I belong!
